    Questions about TBT Fortress

What the assessment is, who it is for, how it works and what you get, in plain answers.

    What is TBT Fortress?

TBT Fortress is a cyber risk assessment for UK small and medium-sized businesses, made by TB Technology Management in London. A small sensor scans your network from the inside, and within 48 hours you get every finding mapped to Cyber Essentials, CAF, NIST CSF and ISO 27001, each with an estimated £ cost, in the order to fix them.

    Who is it for?

UK businesses from 10 to 1,000 employees, in particular engineering and manufacturing firms, motor dealerships and defence suppliers. Managed service providers (MSPs) also use it for the businesses whose IT they look after.

    How does the assessment work?

It runs in three stages. Discover: a small sensor plugs into a spare switch port, listens first and lists every device it finds, including ones nobody registered. Test: with your written permission, safe, controlled probes check internal and external paths, then controlled lateral movement and privilege checks show where small weaknesses chain together. Plan: the findings come back mapped, costed and put in fix order: this week, this month, this quarter.

    How long does it take?

The sensor is deployed in minutes on a spare switch port, and the prioritised remediation plan arrives within 48 hours. The online security questionnaire takes 5 to 7 minutes.

    What does the report include?

Every finding referenced to the five Cyber Essentials controls; the same findings referenced to CAF, NIST CSF and ISO 27001 for auditors and regulators; an estimated £ cost against every finding so the board can weigh it in money; answers to the network questions on a typical cyber insurance proposal form; and a prioritised remediation plan with implementation guidance.

Does it replace my MSP or an annual penetration test?

No. Both are useful, and Fortress adds to them. It covers the view neither is built for: what moves inside the network day to day, including devices your MSP does not manage, written up so your MSP can fix it.

Will it help with Cyber Essentials and cyber insurance?

Yes. Every finding is referenced to the five Cyber Essentials controls, the UK baseline that buyers and insurers ask for, and the report answers the network questions on a typical cyber insurance proposal form. TB Technology Management is itself Cyber Essentials certified.

    How much does it cost?

It depends on your network and what you need assessed, so the price follows the free risk snapshot: the snapshot is the discovery that informs the price, and there is no charge for it.

What is the free risk snapshot?

A starting point before a full assessment. Within 48 hours you get a ten minute discovery call about your network, a one page risk snapshot of your top five issues with an estimated £ impact each, and a simple remediation plan with clear next steps in order. Book it at tbtec.co or call 0204 553 8853.

    Where is TBT based?

TB Technology Management Ltd, trading as TBT Fortress, is at 167-169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF, and works with businesses across the UK. It is registered in England and Wales, company number 16086790. Email contact@tbtec.co or call 0204 553 8853.
